Apex Medical iCH II Auto CPAP Machine with PVA Review
The Apex Medical iCH II is an upgrade on Apex’s previous CPAP machine. It is not the smallest of all CPAP machines on the market so not the best traveling CPAP machine. The Apex has a multitude of features that make it one of the best CPAP machines around. The iCH II is an automatic adjusting CPAP machine which features a built in 6 mode heated humidifier; simple data management; an auto algorithm which helps it adjust air pressure; ramp feature; automatic altitude adjustment and last but not least a Pressure Variation Algorithm (PVA).
The built-in heated humidifier allows for eight hours of peaceful sleep. The humidifier has 6 modes and keeps on going even in the most extreme weather conditions.
The Apex also comes equipped with PVA (Pressure Variation Algorithm). Bearing in mind that pressure, when you sleep on your stomach, is different to when you sleep on your side this is a great addition to the Apex iCH II. Most other CPAP machines will wake you with an alarm to alert you to either change the settings or change your sleeping position. The new technology from Apex allows the machine to automatically adjust the pressure to allow you to continue sleeping without disturbance.
An important aspect of any CPAP machine is its noise level. Not only do you need a quiet environment to sleep in but so does your partner (if you have one). If you are using a CPAP machine to help with snoring, it would obviously defeat the purpose of the machine if it was louder than the snoring it was meant to prevent. The best CPAP machines operate at a level of less than 40dbs and the Apex comes in at 28 decibels which is well below industry standard.
It is important that you be able to collect data from your CPAP machine in the morning and Apex has simplified this process. The information collected by the CPAP machine lets you know if you had a good nights’ sleep of if you need to make any adjustments. The Apex has a monitor which displays this information for you. It is simplified in order for you to interpret the data and make adjustments without consulting your doctor. Thats why we classed this as the best CPAP machine overall.
