Noblechairs ICON Gaming Chair Review
Gaming With Class
Gaming chairs are often made to look as exciting as possible. Bright red streaks and futuristic designs are common with most gaming chair manufacturers. Noblechairs has taken a different approach.
The ICON is a chair that is made to provide the long-term comfort that gamers need, but it has the sophisticated look that you would expect to see in the fanciest corporate offices. The ICON isn’t just a chair that looks good, though. It combines its sophisticated looks with the functionality of a high-end gaming chair at a low price. It’s just slightly too expensive for us to call it a budget gaming chair, but it is a very affordable mid-range option.
Let’s look at all of the features that its modest price will provide you with.
Elegantly Designed With Gamers In Mind
You won’t find sharp edges and bright accents on the ICON. It was designed to look like a high-end office chair. It has a matte black finish, rounded edges, and a minimalist design for the armrests and base.
That might sound boring to some gamers, but it provides the ICON with a very neutral appearance. It’ll match the majority of gaming desks very well, and it won’t look out of place beside your gaming rig.
High-End Materials for a Luxurious Experience
The ICON’s cushions are made from freshly molded foam. That foam is covered by an unusually thick layer of PU leather. Fake leather isn’t usually something that you’d consider to be used in a luxurious gaming chair, but it helps the ICON function more efficiently than other gaming chairs.
The PU is softer than leather, and it’s a lot easier to clean. It also allowed Noblechairs to emboss the backing with diamond shapes. The diamonds add an extra visual element, but they’re functional, too. Other gaming chairs rely on meshing to provide gamers with airflow. The ICON doesn’t require any hideous meshing because the diamond shapes allow air to flow between the chair and your back. That helps to keep you from sweating all over your chair during long gaming binges.
It’s Remarkably Strong
The ICON’s traditional appearance is a little misleading. It’s far from being some fragile luxury chair. In fact, it’s more robust than a lot of high-end gaming chairs. It can hold up to 330 pounds, and it can be reclined or rocked up to 130 degrees while holding that much weight. The average gaming chair can only hold 275 pounds.
The ICON may not look like other gaming chairs, but it’s designed with the same amount of attention to detail. Gamers are unlikely to play for an hour and stop. Noblechairs knows this, and they put in the necessary effort to create a chair that looks sleek and contours to the human body.
Every angle and groove on the ICON was designed to support your body for prolonged periods of time without ruining the luxurious appearance of the chair. To add to the comfort that its ergonomic design provides, Noblechairs has included a removable headrest, and a removable lumbar cushion. The cushions will help you play comfortably, and they’ll keep you from experiencing any horrible back or neck pain.
Safe for all Floors
A lot of people don’t even think about the castors on their gaming chair, but they’re a necessary feature that can damage your home. Poorly made castors won’t effortlessly glide across surfaces. They can get snagged on carpet, and they can scratch hardwood floors.
Luckily, Noblechairs took the time necessary to create castors that will glide across all types of floors. The castors are made out of hardened polyurethane, and they’re nearly 3 inches in diameter. High-quality bearings allow them to move smoothly and effortlessly.
Visually, the armrests on the ICON aren’t anything special. They’re fairly basic, and they match the office theme that the rest of the chair has. However, they are more adjustable than the vast majority of other options. You can move them in 4 different directions to find the position that makes you the most comfortable.
A lot of other chairs are hastily stitched together to save time. That reduces the durability and lifespan of those chairs. That’s not how Noblechairs does things, though.
The stitching on the ICON is second to none. It’s one of the most praised features that the chair has. Each stitch is done in a way that keeps the chair together for years, and it’s done in a way that looks attractive.
Most other gaming chairs are made with nylon bases. Nylon bases aren’t always a sign of low-quality, but no one can debate the added strength that a steel base provides.
Noblechairs didn’t take the cheap route with nylon. They only used solid steel to construct the base of the ICON. The steel base is guaranteed to last longer than nylon alternatives, and it should give you more confidence when rocking or reclining in the chair.
It’s not easy to find a gaming chair that doesn’t look like it belongs in an 80’s Sci-Fi movie. The ICON will be perfect for some users for that reason alone. However, it doesn’t skimp on features, either. It has everything that gamers expect when they pay near $300 for a chair, and it exceeds those expectations in some areas. That makes the ICON a great choice for almost anyone, and it’s a chair that we proudly recommend.
