Comfort and Adjustability with Subtle Aesthetics
The Respawn-110 is a gaming chair that is equal parts comfortable, easily adjustable, and appealing to the eye. In addition, it's a lot more subtle than a lot of other chairs and could easily pass for a regular office chair.
The Respawn-110 isn't a large chair, but it is strong. It can easily fit into most rooms, and it can hold up to 275 pounds. The Respawn-110 can also be adjusted in four different directions, so you can always position it the exact way that you want it.
The chair covering is made from black leather, and it has grey accents to help make it more visually appealing to any gamer.
2. Ficmax Ergonomic Gaming Chair
Superior Comfort and Support
The Ficmax is designed to provide gamers with a comfortable and luxurious gaming chair experience. It's not just a cool-looking gaming chair; it's packed with some impressive extra features, and it's backed by a number of e-sports leagues.
The Ficmax gaming chair is covered with PU leather, and it's filled with nearly five inches of high-density foam padding. The chair is mostly black, but it has the Ficmax logo on the headrest and lumbar cushion for a little bit of color contrast, as well as to provide some much-needed lumbar support.
The Ficmax isn't just designed with ergonomics and support in mind; it can also help with relaxing your body after you've sat in it for long periods of time. It has a built-in massage unit, and it comes with a footrest. The massage unit is powered by a basic USB cable.
Those features aren't the only reason to buy this Ficmax gaming char. Unlike many gaming chair manufacturers, Ficmax stands behind their products. You can return or replace the chair for any reason within 30 days of receiving it, and you can have Ficmax repair any parts that break for free within the first year of owning it.
3. Furmax Leather Gaming Chair
Suitable Comfort on a Budget
The Furmax isn't the fanciest chair in our collection, but it's a great option for those who are on a budget. It has an adjustable cushion for added lumbar support, but that's where the special features end. It's a leather chair, and it has padded armrests for supreme support and comfort. The wheels on the bottom are designed to swivel a full 360 degrees.
Despite its lack of features, the Furmax is well-built, and it fits the role of a gaming chair. The best part is that it costs less than $60. If you're the type of gamer that likes to invest in the best gear possible, you'll want to look elsewhere. However, casual gamers will enjoy the comfort that it provides for a low price.
4. Homall Gaming Racing Chair
All the Fundamentals in an Affordable Package
The Homall gaming chair sacrifices fancy features for a fair price. While it doesn't have a massage unit or other crazy features, it does have all of the fundamentals that make it a good chair.
Visually, the Homall is stunning. It's made from PU leather, and its colors contrast beautifully. It's a dark grey color, and it has a lot of white accents. This gaming chair is designed to be as ergonomic as possible, and it has a lumbar cushion to help prevent back pain. The wheels swivel a full 360 degrees, and it's stronger than most of the chairs in our collection. It can hold 300 pounds before you have to worry about any parts breaking.
The Homall is a great chair for anyone. It's priced low enough to appeal to budget gamers, and it has all of the features that hardcore gamers require for long gaming binges. However, if you want more features, you're better off choosing something like the Ficmax.
5. GTRACING Video Game Chair
Highly Durable with Impressive Comfort
The GTRACING gaming chair is basically an upgraded version of the Homall. They aren't related in any way, but the general feature set is the same. That being said, this GTRACING gaming chair boasts a stronger frame, extra cushions, and a little more mobility. Whether you game on a console or while sitting at a computer desk, this could be a great option for you.
The chair's cover is made from bonded leather, and it's filled with high-density foam for superior support. The headrest and lumbar support cushions are made from the same high-quality materials. The frame on the GTRACING chair is impressive, built from solid steel. That increases the weight of the chair quite a bit, but it also means that it'll last longer. The load capacity is 300 pounds.
The GTRACING chair is incredibly adjustable and can recline up to 170 degrees, and it can swivel a full 360 degrees. The castors on the GTRACING chair are also made from premium materials for smooth movement.
6. KILLABEE Massage Reclining Gaming Chair
An Affordable Alternative to the Ficmax
The KILLABEE gaming chair is a lot like the Ficmax, but it's a little bit cheaper. It's designed to look and feel like a racing seat, and it's packed with a lot of the same features that are on the Ficmax.
The KILLABEE is made from PU leather, and it has a nylon base. It has the same headrest and lumbar cushions as the Ficmax, but it has extra padding cushions on the armrests. It also has a built-in USB-powered massage unit and an extendable footrest for increased support.
The only thing it lacks compared to Ficmax is the load capacity. The KILLABEE can only hold 250 pounds before you have to worry about it collapsing. This is largely due to the use of a nylon frame. However, it's a little cheaper than the Ficmax, so it's a way to save some money if the weight capacity is suitable.
7. Devoko Racing Style Chair
Simple, Durable and Comfortable
This Devoko chair has one of the highest load capacities in this collection, and it's a stylish chair built with comfort in mind. On top of that, it's priced at just over $100, so it's an affordable option for console and computer gamers on a budget.
The cover of the Devoko is made from PU leather that is resistant to fading and easy to clean. The cushions inside of the Devoko are made from dense foam molded into a diamond pattern. This pattern helps to increase the chair's durability, and it makes it a little more durable.
The Devoko doesn't have many adjustment options. It can be raised and lowered via a pneumatic cylinder, but the armrests don't move, and it doesn't recline. It does allow you to remove the head and lumbar cushions, though. That may not be a major feature, but it does help the chair to be customized a little bit to increase your comfort while gaming.
In the end, the Devoko simply provides really nice seating arrangement, and it doesn't cost a lot. What it lacks in options, it makes up for in quality. This chair can hold an astonishing 330 pounds, it's comfortable, and it's visually appealing.
8. Furmax Bucket Seat Gaming Chair
The Higher-End Alternative to our Previous Furmax
The last Furmax gaming chair we reviewed may not be that impressive, but it's a decent chair for $60. This Furmax chair has a lot more features, though, and it only costs $99. So, we suggest that budget computer and console gamers buy this gaming chair if they can handle spending just a little more money.
The chair is made out of PU leather. That's pretty standard among our review chairs, as it's a suitably good chair covering. The cushions are molded from high-density foam, and Furmax didn't skimp on the foam for the back pillow, which is extra thick for even more comfort and support.
The Furmax is incredibly adjustable and able to be reclined and rocked up to 180 degrees, and it has a footrest that can be extended and flipped. The only adjustment feature that it's missing is the option to move the armrests. The construction of the seat isn't low-quality, either, as it can hold up to 310 pounds. That's not the highest weight capacity in this collection that we reviewed, but it's plenty for most people.
One of the few drawbacks that this seat has is its color scheme. The cover is mostly black, but it has a lot of large splotches of light blue. The color scheme looks great, but it's a bold combination that not everyone will like.
9. OFM Racing Style Gaming Chair
An Equal Mix of Comfort, Adjustability and Affordability
This racing-style chair from OFM is affordable, comfortable, and highly adjustable. It costs less than $100 and comes with features that aren't included with some of the more expensive chairs we've reviewed.
The seat cover is made from PU leather, and it has an eye-catching black and white color scheme. The cushions are made from molded foam like the rest of the chairs we've reviewed.
Unlike the other chairs, the OFM is completely adjustable. The armrests can be raised and pushed out of the way, and the seat reclines. The reclining feature includes a tension bar that prevents it from reclining too quickly. That allows you to precisely adjust it, and it keeps you from accidentally flying backward in the heat of the gaming moment.
The OFM doesn't have a lot of luxury features, but it is adjustable, and it costs less than a lot of the other options we've reviewed. It's also one of the few chairs on this list that have adjustable armrests. It's certainly not a bad option for the best gaming chair, and it'll serve casual gamers and hardcore gamers equally well.
10. Merax Racing Style Computer Chair
High-Quality Comfort with a Classic Racing Design
The Merax is the final gaming chair in our collection. It lacks some of the luxury features that the Ficmax and KILLABEE have for the same price, but it's nevertheless a high-quality gaming chair.
The Merax is made from PU leather, and it has a nylon base. Despite the base being made from nylon, it can hold 300 pounds safely. This gaming chair is designed to look like a classic racing seat, and it has a very tall back to support your entire body.
The armrests are adjustable on this model, but they aren't perfect. A lot of the other options on this list have very thick pads on the armrests, and the pads on the Mermax are extremely thin. Luckily, you can move them out of the way if they get uncomfortable.
This is a great alternative to the Ficmax and KILLABEE gaming chair models we reviewed, but both of those are still better than this gaming chair, and they only cost about $20 more.
Best Gaming Chairs under $200 Buyer’s Guide
There are a few key points that you need to consider before you commit to buying the best gaming chair under $200. In this section, we’re going to go over those points, while also giving you a few pointers to help you navigate this collection of the best gaming chairs under $200.
Whatever you do, don’t just buy a gaming chair that looks good. Whether you’re gaming at a computer or in front of a console, you’re probably going to be sitting in your chair for a very long time. Over the course of several years, those long gaming binges can cause muscle problems in your back. To prevent that, you need to make sure that the gaming chair you buy satisfies your needs in each of the categories that we’re about to go over.
A gaming chair shouldn’t be designed like a standard rocking chair. It should be contoured to match the natural bends of your body, and the armrests should be designed to comfortably support your arms in a natural way.
Almost all of the gaming chairs on our list are designed with ergonomics in mind. You can trust that they’ll support your body in a natural way. The one or two that aren’t should only be purchased by more casual gamers. If you find a chair on your own, and it’s not designed to be ergonomic, the same applies; they’re only good for people who game for short periods of time. Everyone else needs an ergonomic gaming chair.
An important factor of ergonomics that shouldn’t be ignored is that of lumbar support. Lumbar support can come in many forms but is typically featured as a cushion that is placed at the bottom of the back support. This allows the gaming chair to comfortably fit the natural curves of your spine, ensuring it is not put under any stress over prolonged periods of time. The advantages of choosing a gaming chair that has been built with good lumbar support are numerous, but most importantly they can ensure that you don’t run into back problems down the line.
Gaming chairs can be quite expensive. Our assortment of the best gaming chairs is comprised of the best budget gaming chairs, and a lot of them are still almost $200. You don’t want to spend that type of money just to end up with your chair in a ripped-up mess after a few uses.
All of the chairs we’ve suggested are made from PU leather or real leather. Both of those materials are very durable, and they’re easy to clean. Gaming chairs made from other fabrics will tear easier, and they’ll stain easier. Make sure that you buy something made from PU leather or real leather. If you do, you won’t have to buy a new one for quite some time.
Adjustable armrests aren’t a necessity, but they are a great feature to invest in. Everyone’s arms have a different length and build. You’ll want to be able to at least rotate the arms of your gaming chair a bit. That being said, most budget chairs don’t allow you to do that. There are a few options in our collection that do, though.
Regardless of whether or not the arms move, you’ll want to buy a gaming chair that has heavily padded armrests. Your arms can end up sitting on them for hours at a time during a gaming session, and you don’t want thin pads to hurt your muscles.
You have to be honest when you go to buy a gaming chair. Will you fit in it? Every gaming chair has a maximum weight capacity, and it’s unsafe to sit in a chair that isn’t rated to hold your body weight.
It isn’t too difficult for the majority of people to find a gaming chair that can hold them, though. One of the options in this review can hold up to 330 pounds, and none of them are incapable of holding someone who weighs 250 pounds. The rating of the weight capacity can change greatly based on what chair you look at, though. Always make sure that you check the chair’s spec sheet for its weight capacity.
Choosing the best gaming chairs for your weight goes further than just whether the chair can support you. The padding and lumbar support of the gaming chair will have been built with a certain weight capacity in mind. If you go over this then you may not be getting the optimum lumbar support for your body, meaning you could be sacrificing gaming comfort, as well as running into health problems down the line after prolonged periods of gaming.
In the end, there are three gaming chairs that really stand out in this review. The other gaming chairs are great alternatives to our top three, though.
The Ficmax is one of the most expensive gaming chairs in our collection, but it is absolutely packed with attributes that we love, and it has some luxury details that you typically have to pay a lot more for. If you have $200 to spend, this is one of the best gaming chairs for most people.
The Devoko is a racing-style gaming chair that boasts the highest weight capacity of all the gaming chairs we’ve reviewed, and it’s a lot cheaper than the Ficmax. The Devoko is suitable for heavier gamers that have to stick to a budget, but without sacrificing gaming comfort.
The Merax is a great gaming chair for a large number of gamers, and it’s cheaper than the Ficmax. The only feature that it doesn’t have is heavy padding for the armrests, and it doesn’t have a massage unit. You can do without both of those details in most circumstances. It’s still a comfortable option, but we only suggest it for people who are going to play for reasonable amounts of time because of the armrests.
While the Furmax gaming chairs aren’t the best chairs on our list, they are the best options for gamers on very tight budgets looking to improve their gaming comfort, and they’re worth mentioning in this section. Both of them are cheap, and the racing-style design has a lot of the high-quality attributes that you’d expect in much more expensive gaming chairs. If you liked our article on gaming chairs under $200, please share and comment below what your favorite product is.
